Literature Text

“We left the first vehicle running hot. Make it the target. While we hope to sneak past on a different trajectory.” Troy went through their intentions. “You don't think I left all the planing all to Eleanor do you?”
“Yes, well thank you.” Eleanor reluctantly expressed. “But to have any hope of success, we still need to prepare for the landing.”
She recounted the complex procedures. They would exit from the craft and then approach any facilities they were to find. Though this location was yet to be pinpointed, Wayne was certain it would lie on the far side of the moon. Ilus was small enough to afford them the time to change their landing spot. They could change course “on the fly” he said. If he could just bounce his sensors off something, anything, he could aim for it.
It seemed as if they had run through the procedures endlessly. The emptiness around them was unable to break the monotonous repetition. As the hours passed Illus continued to approach. It became time for their decent and a final breaking burn.
The ground and giant craters rushed towards them at a frighting speed. When the engines engaged they became the brightest “star” above Illus' horizon. The hydrogen, helium and deuterium fuel filled the expanse. On Wayne's panel a small signal was detected. It was advancing up out from Illus. It headed for them fast.
