In The Air: Explosions, Chapter 16, Part 3

“The choice is not yours any more.” Eleanor shouts as she holds the helmet up to the Commanders head, she motions to Tycho to take the helmet and readies a canister of air.
Fear shoots up into the commander. He leans back in his chair.
“Afraid to face the truth? Your judgement by the people of Eta?” she asks. “Look at your own people, how do they judge you now?” The room silent, frozen in fear. How could they ever prepare  their isolated lives to be interrupted in such a violent manner.
“They follow my orders.” The Commander maintains.
But even as Tycho clamps the helmet down, the commander starts shaking. He reaches for the air tank, but Eleanor stops him suddenly.
“Tycho”, she interrupts, “His face... I know this is a strange question...” she looks around the room, everyone in awe, even the guards having lowered their weapons in stark amazement at the commander, “why is he afraid of the spacesuit?”
“What?” Tycho responds. “They must all wear them, it's not the suit. It's the weapons pointed at him.”
She lowers her own, But Troy raises his, over his shoulder this time.
“You'll be safe, I assure.” She replies looking back into the Commanders tightly expressed face.
She reaches for the lever to turn on the air canister. His expression moves again from gritted defiance to a braced, teeth clenched fear.
“Those eyes!” Tycho exclaims. “I know that look.”
