In The Air: Explosions, Chapter 2, Part 1

Chapter 2: Exposure

A large billowing black trail swept across the sky. The jittering construction of metal and mechanics fought for control against the inevitability of gravity. It's sleek form did little to help control it's decent.
"Doesn't she have any chutes?"  Tycho asked as he lifted the goggles off of the watchman.
He peered through them and with difficulty zeroed in on the unknown ship.
"If she does she's reluctant to show 'em." The watchman noted as the craft continued to snake onwards, "She's out of control that's for sure."
"She never had it in the first place," Said Tycho passing the goggles back, "look, no wings. That's no patrol I ever saw."
A spark lit up behind the craft and the trail turned white momentarily. The craft started to bank as it's bearing arched slowly back towards them.
"She's shedding off her speed" Tycho said looking back at the watchman, "Yep, heading straight for us I'd say." he replied, unsure of the situation.
Tycho gave the signal to clear the gangway and open up the nets. Most other days they caught cargo pods. Today they caught a bird.
